POST A COMMENTStarting November 16th, EVGA will host a two week long Team Fortress 2 event! Signup and participation is free and easy for any who wishes to participate. Official gaming will begin on November 16th at midnight, and continue until November 29th at 11:59PM. Anyone that signs up and plays any length of time during those two weeks will be eligible to win a prize.
This is not a competition or tournament, merely a chance for regular gamers to come out and play your hearts out for some great gaming goods. All prizes will be raffled off over the course of the two weeks!

Breaking News!
Yesterday's TF2 event to promote the Halloween Update was making TF2 only $2.49, instead of the usual $20. However, that was only for 2 hours! People were pretty mad when they found out about the sale after it happened. Well, for the people who did buy TF2, it was a hit. But now, Steam is tempted to make some more cash.

Well, it's that time of year again, Halloween. Where kids get free candy from strangers and.....well that's beside the point. The point is Valve has decided to share Halloween Spirit with the community too! It's time for the Halloween Update!

With work on Left 4 Dead 2 calming down for us a bit, we were able to finish up something we promised you a while back—gathering up all the source files for the character models and getting them online. This'll hopefully let you guys get a lot more creative out there with your fan-made content. (We can't wait to see it.) We've also gotten a lot of requests for models and props from the Meet the Team shorts. So we're happy to announce we've released the first set, from Meet the Sniper (note that these were made for the movies, and haven't been optimized for performance in maps, so keep that in mind). I've outlined some of these below.

I was playing TF2 last night, mostly as a spy. And i noticed that no matter how subtle i approach the enemy people around or even my prey would notice my odd behavior then it wont take a couple of milliseconds for them to fire a “loyalty shot” at me and poof - cover’s blown. I resorted to a lot of methods that a Team Fortress 2 newbie-spy would undertake like running backwards towards the enemy, stealthing and trying to stab from behind and stealth`ing towards the enemy base and making it look like as if i just spawned from their base and of course disguising as a double-agent spy. But none of them worked all the time and especially hard to pull off in small maps so i googled for some Team Fortress 2 spy techniques and these are the videos that i found (lucky for me they were uploaded just a couple of hours ago). If you’ve been playing Spy on Team Fortress 2 for a couple of days already, you may notice that you’ve tried all of these techniques probably by instinct. How to play scout in Team Fortress 2 is a big question right now with the announcement of the next updated class. Since scout is going to be next update people want to get used to the class before the update comes out. Scout is one of the most underplayed classes in Team Fortress 2. This is of course probably the reason that Valve is releasing them as the next class.
While most people find scout to be hard, it’s actually one of the most versatile classes in the game. Scouts for offense and defense are very well in the right hands. Just like any other class in the game, once you learn to use it to its fullest potential you can play scout in just about any situation.
Personally scout is one of my favorite classes and I’m very much looking forward to the next update. There are very few maps in which scout is just next to impossible to play. Hydro and Goldrush are one of the hardest maps to play scout on. While it’s not impossible, it can be quite difficult.
Below is one of the best scout training videos I’ve ever come across. I defiantly helped me to increase my game play. The video will teach you the ins and outs of the scout class and the best way to take down every class you come across. Enjoy!

The good people over at Valve has, just a few days ago, released a huge update for their MP based game Team Fortress 2. The update contains many requested bugfixes and tweaks. The Update will be automatically downloaded once you start your Steam client. Here's the whole list: ... Engine
- If the installation is an HLTV relay we allow clients to connect as HLTV clients even if tv_enable is set to false. A recent exploit fix made it such that we ignore the flag indicating that the client is an HLTV client if tv_enable is false, but it is possible that relays won't have this ConVar set
Additions / Changes
- Backpack improvement
- Added support for 100 slots in the backpack
- Backpack can now be sorted by type
- Multi-selection in the backpack is now done by holding down the Ctrl key
- Alt-fire on the Sandvich now drops sandviches
- A single sandvich can be dropped at a time. Dropping the sandvich removes it from the Heavy
- A Heavy can regain his sandvich by collecting a healthkit while already being at full health
- Eating a sandvich using the taunt method now heals a Heavy to full health
- Dropped sandviches heal 50% of the collector's health
- Medic regen changes
- Base regen amount increased from 1/sec to 3/sec
- Regen amount increase since time of last damage decreased from 3x to 2x
- End result of above: Old healing scaled from 1/sec to 3/sec based on time since being damaged (maxed out at 10 seconds). New healing scales from 3/sec to 6/sec
- Blutsauger
- Replaced "No critical hits" negative attribute with "-2 health drained per second on wearer"
- Health drain stacks on top of the above Medic regen changes, lowering the base regen by 2h/sec
- Added "mp_windifference" server ConVar (default to 0)
- When set to X, matches will be considered won if a team gets X points ahead of the other team
- Added a "Remember the active weapon between lives" option to the Multiplayer->Advanced options dialog
- Added "Disable weather effects" option to the Multiplayer->Advanced options dialog
- Added "Show non-standard items on spectated player" option to the Multiplayer->Advanced options dialog
- If set (default), it'll show non-standard items being carried by the player you're spectating
- Tournament mode changes
- New item whitelist allowing tournaments to control what items can be used by players
- Added "item_whitelist_example.txt"
- Added "item_show_whitelistable_definitions" command to get a list of whitelistable items
- Added Tournament mode Spectator HUD
- Added "Use advanced spectator HUD in tournament mode" option to the Multiplayer->Advanced options dialog
- Shows all the members of your team (or both if you're a spectator) at the top of the screen, along with class/health/respawn time/charge level
- Spectator indices are now shown on the team members, and hitting the corresponding weapon selection key (slot1-slot12 commands) will spectate them
- Changed idle player check to include spectators & players who haven't chosen a team
Bug Fixes
- Fixed explosive radius detection using an axially aligned box instead of a sphere
- Compensated by increasing the radius of grenades, pipes, and rockets to 50% of what they lost at the corners of the OBB
- Grenades/Pipes radius change: 132->159
- Rocket radius change: 121->146
- End result of above: Explosives have had their radius reduced at some angles, and increased at others. Radius is now consistent, angles are now irrelevant
- Fixed Sniper using the reference pose if he has the Huntsman deployed when his team loses
- Fixed Spies speaking their response rules lines after killing a player as the class they were disguised as
- Fixed Medics getting MedicCallerPanels in their HUD for cloaked enemy Spies disguised as their team
- Fixed the Huntsman not firing crit arrows when the Sniper is being CritBoosted
- Fixed being able to fire the Huntsman under water if you jump into the water with the arrow charged
- Added check to prevent clients using the "firstperson" command to get out of thirdperson view while they're phasing, taunting or control stunned
- Fixed Halo glow effect not being hidden for cloak/disguised enemy Spies
- Fixed wearables not destroying their attached particles when they're removed
- Fixed several player & viewmodel simulation issues that occurred when the game was paused
- Fixed a DX8-based exploit that allowed modified particle effects to work under sv_pure 2
Community Requests
- Added the entindex() of the object being built to the "player_builtobject" game event
- Added flag to allow CTF map authors to turn off the Overtime mode when timers expire
- Added IgnitePlayer input to TFPlayer
The TF2 Development team has had lots of requests to release the official set of "Ubercharged" avatars that a member of their internal TF2 clan, Dhabih, made. These avatars are not avaiable for the grabs on the Official TF2 Community page or grab the zip of them here. Have fun!
